Patient Care & Services — A Complete Guide to Your Stay in India

Travelling for treatment brings enough to think about already. This guide walks through every stage of care at Viezec — before you arrive, during admission and your hospital stay, and after discharge — plus your rights, visiting rules, translation support, and how costs compare to home.

Quick answer

Every patient at Viezec is assigned a dedicated Guest Relation Officer who coordinates care from first enquiry to return home — pre-arrival planning, admission, interpretation, visitor and ICU guidelines, discharge, and follow-up. Most services are provided at no extra charge; treatment, accommodation, and travel are quoted separately per case. See Patient Care Services or jump straight to your rights & responsibilities.

Important: This page describes patient-support services and hospital processes generally. Exact policies (visiting hours, ICU access, discharge timing) are set by the treating hospital and confirmed for your specific admission by your Guest Relation Officer.

Why patients choose Viezec

Care Coordination, From First Enquiry to Return Home

India has become a leading destination for patients seeking advanced treatment at a fraction of the cost found elsewhere — but unfamiliar hospitals, language differences, and paperwork can feel daunting from a distance. Viezec exists to remove that friction.

Every patient works with a dedicated Guest Relation Officer who stays involved end to end: reviewing reports before you travel, matching you to a hospital and specialist suited to your case and budget, handling admission formalities, arranging interpretation, keeping family informed during your stay, and coordinating discharge and follow-up once treatment is complete — so you can focus on recovering, not logistics.

Patient & Attendant Rights and Responsibilities

Good care runs both ways — here's what you can expect from us, and what helps us care for you well.

Your rights

  • Clear, understandable information about your diagnosis, options, and expected course of treatment.
  • Informed consent before any procedure, with time to ask questions.
  • Privacy and confidentiality of your medical information.
  • Respectful, non-discriminatory care regardless of nationality or background.
  • Access to your medical records and a written discharge summary.

Shared responsibilities

  • Provide complete and accurate medical history and prior reports.
  • Follow the agreed care plan, medication schedule, and hospital instructions.
  • Respect ward timings, visitor limits, and staff instructions.
  • Inform the care team promptly of any change in symptoms.
  • Settle agreed costs as per the hospital's billing process.
During your stay

Visitor Guidelines & ICU Access

Hospital wards and intensive care units follow different rules — here's the general shape of both, always confirmed against the specific hospital's policy.

General ward visiting: most hospitals set defined visiting hours and ask that a limited number of attendants stay with the patient at any time, to keep the ward calm and infection risk low.

  • Defined visiting hours, posted at the ward entrance
  • One or two attendants permitted per patient at a time
  • Hand hygiene and protective gear required before entry
  • Photography/video restricted without hospital permission
  • ICU access limited to short, scheduled windows
  • Children and unwell visitors generally not permitted in ICU

Good to know: ICU visiting rules exist to protect critically ill patients from infection and disruption — your Guest Relation Officer will confirm exact timings with the hospital before your visit.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to what we hear most from patients and families — for more, see the full international patient FAQ.

What free services does Viezec provide?

A free initial medical report review, a dedicated Guest Relation Officer, airport pickup coordination, hospital liaison, and interpretation support are typically included — confirm exact inclusions for your case with the team.

What happens during admission?

Reports are reviewed by the treating team, hospital paperwork and consent forms are completed with translation support if needed, and you're oriented to the ward before treatment begins.

Are visitors allowed in the ICU?

ICU access follows the hospital's visiting-hours policy — generally limited windows and a restricted number of attendants at a time, to protect patient safety and infection control.

Is interpretation and translation available?

Yes. Interpretation is arranged for consultations and translation for medical reports and consent documents, so you fully understand the process in your own language.

What does the discharge process involve?

You receive a written discharge summary, medication and follow-up instructions, and support with travel arrangements home.

What are my rights and responsibilities?

You have the right to clear information, informed consent, privacy, and respectful care, and share responsibility for accurate history-sharing, following the care plan, and respecting hospital guidelines.

How does cost compare to the US, UK, or Europe?

India generally offers meaningfully lower treatment, hospital-stay, and accommodation costs. A written estimate follows a review of your medical reports.

Do you help with tours and travel during recovery?

Yes — local transport, accommodation, and light sightseeing can be arranged where your treating doctor advises it is appropriate.
